THE SON MUST SET

Pain more so than

Broken bones that

Father would never allow,

Rather the grieving heart, 

Center of the whole.

Bruised blood infected muscle,

Man’s natural armor,

Torn like clothe from

My mother’s soul.

Tears of visible blood,

For whom prefer to taste,

The spectacle of sinful blood,

The truthful lies of God,

Not for them, Destiny

Failed and forgotten.

Shattered heart,

Weakly fluter beats,

Why, Father, how, Father?

Answer to Myself,

Unintelligible dialogue?

Who am I who is He,

Alone, no words, but

Silence, not peace,

Emptiness pure.

Deep space silence,

Beyond Earth, past

My Father’s house,

Quiet and clean,

Neither cold, neither hot.

Silencing physical pain,

Quieting my human heart,

The son must set,

So the Son may rise.
